Important: Our E-IDTA Multilingual Document Translation is a translation of your current domestic driver's license, formatted in accordance with the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. It is prepared independently by our own translation team. You must always carry and present your original domestic driver's license together with the E-IDTA — the E-IDTA is accepted when shown alongside your domestic license. Acceptance by foreign authorities, vehicle rental companies, or law enforcement is at their sole discretion. Any similarity between our name and that of AAA (American Automobile Association), CAA (Canadian Automobile Association), AAS (Automobile Association of Singapore), or ATA (American Translators Association) is coincidental.

1. About International Document Translation Agency (E-IDTA)

International Document Translation Agency (E-IDTA) is a brand owned and operated by its mother company International Automobile Agency, a private entity producing a linguistic translation of your domestic driver's license. We are an independent private translation provider. The name "International Document Translation Agency" is a commercial trading name describing that service.

2. What the E-IDTA is

  • The E-IDTA is a linguistic translation of your domestic driver's license, prepared by a private translation agency.
  • In the United States, the organizations designated under the 1949 Geneva Convention are the American Automobile Association (AAA) and the American Automobile Touring Alliance (AATA). We operate independently of both.
  • Equivalent designated issuers exist in other countries (for example, CAA in Canada or AAS in Singapore). We operate independently of them.
  • Any similarity in name between E-IDTA, International Document Translation Agency, and AAA, CAA, AAS, ATA, or any other organization is coincidental.

3. Who issues the E-IDTA

  • The E-IDTA is issued by International Document Translation Agency, a private translation company.
  • The E-IDTA is produced solely by International Document Translation Agency, independently of the United Nations, UNECE, national road-safety authorities and motoring associations.

4. Carrying your E-IDTA

  • You must always carry and present your current domestic driver's license together with the E-IDTA.
  • The E-IDTA is accepted when shown alongside your original driver's license, which remains your driving credential.

5. Acceptance is at third-party discretion

  • Acceptance of the E-IDTA by foreign authorities, vehicle rental companies, or law-enforcement officers is at their sole discretion.
  • Acceptance of the E-IDTA is at the discretion of each country, region, or counterparty.
  • We are not liable for any fine, penalty, denial of service, denial of rental, or any other consequence imposed by any third party following the presentation of an E-IDTA. This limitation is subject to Section 8 below and to any non-waivable consumer-protection law.

6. Country-acceptance scope

The E-IDTA is formatted in accordance with the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Where our website references the Conventions' contracting-states list, acceptance remains at the discretion of the accepting authority. 7. Pre-checkout acknowledgement

At checkout, you are required to tick an acknowledgement confirming you have read this Disclaimer and understand that the E-IDTA is a translation of your current driver's license issued by a private translation agency. This acknowledgement is binding.

8. No warranty; limitation preserved

  • Except for the express guarantees set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy (the Rejection Guarantee and the Replacement Guarantee) and any non-excludable consumer guarantees, the E-IDTA and website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
  • To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Nothing in this Disclaimer limits any right you may have under applicable mandatory consumer law, including the EU Digital Content Directive 2019/770, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Australian Consumer Law, Brazil's Código de Defesa do Consumidor, or provincial consumer-protection laws in Canada.
